Introducing Overtime Tracking: A Better Way to Handle Overtime

Veterinary shifts don’t always end when the clock says so. Emergencies arise, procedures extend, and patient care takes precedence. To address this, we’re excited to introduce our new Overtime Tracking feature, designed to ensure that relief veterinarians are accurately compensated for every extra hour worked, while providing clinics with a transparent approval process.

🩺 For Veterinarians: Report Overtime in Just a Few Clicks

After completing a shift, you’ll receive a notification prompting you to finalize your shift details. Within the shift sidebar, you can:​

• Request Overtime: Indicate if you’ve worked beyond your scheduled hours and specify the additional time.​
• Review Compensation: Instantly view the additional earnings based on your standard hourly rate.​
• Finalize Submission: Submit your overtime request to the clinic for approval.​

This step is required in order to be paid, so we’ve made it quick and easy to complete.

🏥 For Practices: Transparent Overtime Approval

Once a relief veterinarian finalizes their shift and logs overtime, the clinic will receive an email with a direct link to that specific shift and can:​

• Review Details: Access the shift details to see the overtime hours requested and the associated compensation.​
• Approve or Dispute: Choose to approve the request or initiate a dispute if discrepancies arise.​
• Efficient Communication: In case of disputes, the system facilitates direct communication with Serenity Vet support to resolve issues swiftly.​

Once approved, the payment is triggered — no back-and-forth emails.

🔔 Stay on Track with Daily Notifications

To help everyone stay up to date, both email and in-app reminders are sent daily to vets with shifts awaiting approval. These alerts link directly to your Schedule page, so nothing slips through the cracks.

All overtime requests and approvals are integrated within the shift sidebar, allowing both veterinarians and clinics to manage, review, and finalize shift details in one centralized location.
